Course Description
Advanced pre-hospital emergency care training for high-risk and specialist roles
This 5-day Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) develops the practical skills and knowledge needed to assess and manage a wide range of pre-hospital emergency care situations.
Designed for individuals working in high-risk environments, security and emergency response roles, this regulated qualification develops skills in patient assessment, trauma management and emergency care for use in real-world incidents.
FREC3 can also support progression into further pre-hospital emergency care training and career pathways.

FREC3 involves multiple practical assessments, theory assessments and examinations. A previous first aid qualification is not essential, but previous first aid knowledge or experience is strongly recommended.
What you will learn?

Course outcomes
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Assess emergency incidents and patients safely and systematically
- Recognise and manage life-threatening and non-life-threatening illness and injury within your scope of practice
- Provide appropriate immediate care to seriously ill or injured patients
- Apply pre-hospital emergency care principles in high-pressure situations
- Communicate effectively and provide appropriate patient handover
- Work safely within the responsibilities and scope of a FREC3 responder
Certification
Assessment includes six practical assessments, a theory assessment and two invigilated anatomy and physiology assessments.
On successful completion, learners receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) (Qualification Number 603/6987/5), valid for three years.
FREC3 includes multiple practical assessments and examinations, so previous first aid knowledge or experience is strongly recommended. A previous first aid qualification is not essential. Successful learners receive a Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) e-Certificate following submission and verification of results by the awarding body.
