Celebrating Our Youth and Education Programmes
St John Ambulance Isle of Man is thrilled to announce that we are a finalist for Education and Learning Initiative of the Year at the prestigious 2025 Media Isle of Man Awards For Excellence.
This recognition of our Youth and Education programmes acknowledges the dedication within our Badgers and Cadets youth programmes, which offer long-term development and leadership opportunities for young people aged 5 to 18. Furthermore, the nomination celebrates the crucial, widespread education provided to schools and nurseries across the Isle of Man through our wider education programme.
This recognition of our members and the young people who commit their time to learning life-saving skills is a testament to the high standards we maintain, and the dedication demonstrated by our next generation of lifesavers.
Ultimately, our objective is to ensure young people across the island are equipped with life-saving knowledge and the confidence to act in an emergency. Thank you to the judges for acknowledging this vital community effort, and a huge thank you to every member, trainer, Badger, Cadet and supporter who helps us deliver our mission every day.
We also extend our sincere best wishes to all the other worthy finalists in the awards and look forward to the awards ceremony on Thursday 20 November and continuing our work to keep the Island safe.
“It is important to share with children skills which they can take with them through life, so over the last 10 years we have shared skills so they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.” – Jill Gill, School Liaison Officer.
“From the moment they join, our Badgers and Cadets gain essential, life-saving skills; we’re not just teaching basic first aid, we’re actively developing future first aiders with advanced skills who are passionate about making a real difference in their communities.” – Edward Littlewood, Commissioner of Youth.
